INTERTWINEDxGEMANDPOINT

I am SO EXCITED to share about this collaboration project between myself and Brittany Korona of Gem and Point. Brittany is a self-taught electroform artist that makes beautiful healing jewelry from copper and gemstones.

Months ago, I had this vivid vision of a mala with a copper electroformed crystal at the center. I love and have followed Brittany's work for a few years now, so I reached out to her to ask if she would be interested in creating some pendants for me to work with. I sent her a small selection of quartz and labradorite that Boyd and I handpicked at the Tucson Gem Show last year and she worked her magic on them.

As I got ready to start on this collection, I fell into a bit of a creative rut. None of the designs that I was trying felt quite right. Have you ever found yourself in that place before? Maybe in the form of writer's block or general lack of inspiration? When I find myself there, I find it helpful not to force anything. To accept where I am and surrender to the present moment. I stayed in that place for about two weeks, but when I finally felt called to sit down to work, these pieces flowed almost effortlessly into reality and I am so thrilled to share them with you!

Before I show the finished pieces, some of you may be wondering what is electroforming?

The copper part of the pendant is made using an over 12 hour process called electroforming, where copper forms around the natural shape of the crystal creating a unique + organic feeling piece. The piece is then oxidized creating an aged patina, which will continue to develop over time. (Words taken from Gem and Point)

Here is the final collection! They are all one-of-a-kind and will be available on Etsy HERE on May 15th, 2019 at 10am PST.

That's all for now! Thank you for following along on this journey!
