MY THREE FAVORITE CRYSTAL HEALING BOOKS

Updated: Mar 7, 2019

I get asked for recommendations for crystal healing and crystal metaphysical property resources quite a bit, so I thought that I would compile a list of my favorite books to share with you!

My three favorite books about stones and crystals

These are the three crystal books that I currently have in my office and that I use the most often. They each take a slightly different approach and have a different feel to them, so I’ll tell you what they are and what I like about each of them.

The Book of Stones by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian

This is my top favorite go-to book for information about crystal properties, hands down. It has over 300 stones listed with great pictures and information, and it is the book that I use when I want to re-read about my favorite stones, learn something new, or offer stone suggestions to someone.

It gives keywords, elements, and chakras associated with the stone, describes the scientific properties of each stone, talks about uses throughout history, and offers suggestions for compatible stones. At the end of each stone description, it's neatly broken down into spiritual, emotional, and physical healing properties and ends with an affirmation. The index is also an awesome resource because it is broken down into two sections: physical and emotional/spiritual correspondences. You can use it to easily reference which stones are helpful for certain issues.

Why I like it: in-depth • comprehensive • easy to use

The Book of Stones is a great resource for anyone interested in the healing properties of stones.

Crystals: The Modern Guide to Crystal Healing by Yulia Van Doren

This book is beautiful. I don't use it for reference like I do The Book of Stones, but it's the main book that I have displayed and every time I pick it up I get inspiration from it. It was an Instagram impulse buy, and I'm so glad that I came across it.

It's hard to stop talking about the gorgeous photos, beautiful layout and design, and awesome font choice long enough to get to the content, but I'm going to try. This one has an awesome section called Crystal Magic 101 that gives a brief but well written and helpful intro to choosing a crystal, crystal energy, crystal cleansing, chakras, and how to easily incorporate crystals into every day life. It gives a short description of more than 50 of the most well known stones, and includes the color and chakra associated with them, whether or not they are safe to cleanse in water, their magic, and some interesting facts about each one.

Why I like it: beautiful • easy to read • great for beginners

Crystals: The Modern Guide to Crystal Healing is great for anyone that is new to crystal healing or wants to learn about the most commonly used stones.

Love is in the Earth - A Kaleidoscope of Crystals by Melody

This book is a must-have for me because it has the widest selection of stones, from the most common to the most obscure. I couldn't find an exact count online, but if I counted right it may even have as many as 900 different entries (!!!) I use this book when I want to compare a stone description to one that I read in The Book of Stones, or when The Book of Stones doesn't offer the stone I'm researching.

It lists the astrological sign and number that each stone is associated with and gives a scientific and metaphysical description of each stone. It doesn't go as in-depth about each stone as The Book of Stones does, but the sheer volume of information available in this book is pretty incredible. It also talks about practical applications of crystals like meditation, manifestation, and aura healing, lists the properties of different quartz crystal formations, and has an index of properties for physical and emotional/spiritual correspondences, though it's not broken down into those two categories like in The Book of Stones.

Why I like it: information • variety • reference

Love is in the Earth is great for anyone that wants to have access to information on a HUGE selection of stones, including even the most rare and obscure minerals.

Have you read any of these books, or do you have any other favorite crystal healing resources? I would love to hear!

Bella
